Obituary of Paul McCarthy

Paul McCarthy,60 years of age, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at home.  He resided in Dover. However, from birth until 2005 he lived in Mt. Hope.

He is survived by his mother Jane; two children Gerald Francis and Chelsea Mae; three siblings Peter, Regina, Sheila, and former wife Maria, mother of his children.  He is predeceased by his father Gerald and his sister Mary

 

Paul received a Master of Education Degree from Trenton State College.  He was employed as an Industrial Arts Teacher at Dover High School for 23 years.  During the summer months he conducted a program teaching h.s. students small engine repair.  He often spoke of the fulfillment he received while teaching.

 

Paul was an avid hockey player while in high school and CCM.  he enjoyed participating in tri-athlete competitions, skiing, hunting and fishing.

While teaching at D.H.S. he became Director of the Ski Club traveling to ski resorts with many interested students.  His Rockaway Twp. sportsmen's assoc. membership provided great opportunities for sharing outdoor experiences with his father, cousins and friends.

 

A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 26, 2018, 10:00am at St Bernard's Church, Mt. hope - Rockaway Twp.
