Obituary of Eugene R Snyder

Eugene R. Snyder, 90, of Randolph, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Morristown Medical Center, following a brief illness.

Born in Morristown to the late Harry and Rita (Glandville) Snyder.  He was a graduate of Morristown High School and resided in Randolph for 67 years.

He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Army.

Gene was a Store Manager for ACME Markets for 29 years and a Supervisor for the Ferolie Food Corp. for 15 years.

He was a former Fire Chief for the Mt. Freedom Fire co, also a Township Fire Chief. He established the Shongum Fire Department in 1971. Gene (often called Jake) loved camping, gardening, puzzles and the NY Mets.

He is survived by his loving wife Mary (McCartney) Snyder. They enjoyed 69 years of marriage. He is survived by four daughters Kathleen Campion (Raymond), Karen Miezejewski (Stanley), Debra Lynch (Dennis) and Denise O’Brien (James). He had nine grandchildren Matthew (Missy) Campion, Timothy Campion, Nicholas (Gillian) Campion, Christopher (Lauren) Campion, Amanda Knudson (Zachary), Ashley (Michael) Martin, Lindsay Lynch, Patrick O’Brien and Katelyn O’Brien and two great grandchildren Quinn Campion and Abigail Martin, he is also survived by his brother Norman (Virginia Snyder), many nieces and nephews, he is predeceased by his brother James Snyder.

Visitation Thursday, May, 17, 2018, 4:00-8:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Mass of Christian Burial Friday, May 18, 2018, 10:00AM, Resurrection Parish, Randolph. Interment to follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Morristown.
