Obituary of Alice E Beirne

Alice E. Beirne, 89, of Succaunna, passed away peacefully at Merry Heart Assisted Living on February 10, 2018. Born in Orange NJ, she grew up in Irvington and resided in Dover for 25 years and Whippany for 37 years and she wintered in Nokomis, Florida prior to moving to Succasunna.  Alice was a 50 + years member of the First Memorial Presbyterian Church in Dover and was a Den Mother for Cub Scout Pack 14 for many years. She worked for NJ Bell Telephone and later retired from Kmart in 1988. Her parents owned the Elfers Bakery in Madison.

 

Daughter of the late Peter and Helen (Ackerson) Elfers, she is survived by her son, Thomas J. (Kathy) daughter, Carol B. Gratacos (Bill), brother, Harry Elfers (Isabelle), sister in law, Barbara Squires, five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on February 14, 2018 from 3:00 - 6:00 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph.  A funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on February 15, 2018 also at the Funeral Home, with burial following at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.

 

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Alice's memory to the First Memorial Presbyterian Church, 51 W. Blackwell st. Dover, NJ 07801
