Obituary of Eui Won Choe
DR. EUI WON CHOE, BELOVED FATHER AND GRANDFATHER
Dr. Eui Won Choe, 79, of Randolph, passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on January 23, 2018.
Dr. Choe was born in Korea in 1938, and passed away one week before his 80th birthday. He came to the United States to attend college and graduate school, and obtained his PhD from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1969. Dr. Choe has been a resident of Randolph for more than 40 years.
Dr. Choe was a chemist and professor. He worked at Hoechst Celanese Corporation for approximately 30 years, and taught graduate school at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Fairleigh Dickinson University. Dr. Choe was a prominent chemist, who invented over 100 U.S. patents and 300 patents worldwide in the chemical field. Dr. Choe was recently honored as a 50-year member of the American Chemical Society.
Dr. Choe was predeceased by his beloved wife Tannie, who died in 2013 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Dr. and Mrs. Choe enjoyed opera, classical music, gourmet food, traveling, and the arts.
He is survived by his daughter Jennifer, son David, son-in-law Ted, and two granddaughters, Ashley and Stephanie.
Visitation will be held at Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph, on Monday, January 29, 2018 from 10:00AM-12:00PM. A funeral service will take place at 12:00PM. Interment to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Chester.
