Obituary of Christine "Chris" Garie

Christine “Chris” Garie, 86, of Blairstown, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at Compassionate Care Hospice, Dover. Chris was born in NY, resided in Rockaway Township before becoming a resident of Blairstown in 1987. She worked in Personnel at Picatinny Arsenal, Rockaway.

Chris was an avid reader and enjoyed crafting and had a huge love for animals.

She is survived by Joseph her loving husband of 66 years; two children Alan and his wife Deirdre of Rockaway Township and Brett and his wife Michele of Blairstown; daughter-in-law Tonyia Quade of Rockaway Township. Chris is also survived by four grandchildren Patrick, Tara Rose Garie Nesfeder and her husband Alan, Brian and Ryan; cousin Rudolph Thurnes of Lake Hopatcong and caregiver and friend Susan Reilly. She is predeceased by her son Randy and parents Jacob and Rose Groeters.

Visitation Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 4:00-8:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Service Friday, January 26, 2018 at 10:30AM also at the funeral home. Interment is private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to either Chron’s and Colitis Foundation, http://www.crohnscolitisfoundation.org, or Alzheimer’s Association, www.act.alz.org.
