Obituary of Henry Alan Struble
Henry “Alan” Struble, age 82. Henry Alan Struble of Towamensing Twp., PA, formerly of Rockaway Twp., passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017. He was born at home, the son of Harry Struble, Sr. and Gladys Swackhammer Struble of Rockaway Twp. He was predeceased by Carol his wife of 43 years and siblings Harry Struble Jr. and Mary Ellen Lieberwirth. Alan was a US Navy Veteran who served on the Aircraft Carrier USS Forrestal CVA 59. He was employed 34 years by GEC Marconi Electronic Systems Corp. as a Systems Engineer.
He was a member of the Rockaway Township Fire Department Marcella Fire Co. No. 3. He served in the positions of Company Association Secretary and President. In addition, he had served as Fire Lieutenant, Fire Captain and twice as Marcella Fire Co. Chief. Together with member Ed Black, he Co-Chaired the Committee on a major addition to the Marcella Fire House in 1967. He was committee Chairman for the purchase of a 1967 John Bean Fire Pumper, a 1980 Yankee Coach Ambulance and a 1982 Amthor 3500-gallon Tanker Pumper. He had served as the Rockaway Township Fire Department Association Secretary and was a Life Member of the Rockaway Township Fire Department having served in excess of 25 years. He is survived by four children son Thomas Struble of New Brunswick, daughter Susan Laing (Scott) of Granville, OH, stepsons Thomas Madden (Karen) of Manalapan and Stephen Madden (Lynn) of Marcella and 7 grandchildren.
Visitation Tuesday, December 26, 2017 2-4PM & 6-8PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Service Wednesday, December 27, 2017, 10AM also at the funeral home. Interment is private.
