Obituary of Salvatore P DiGiovine

Salvatore P. DiGiovine, 82, passed away Monday, December 18, 2017, at Forest Manor Health Care Center, Hope.  He was born and raised in Newark, and lived in the Poconos for many years before residing in Blairstown.

Salvatore worked for the Road Department for the City of Newark and he was a Maintenance Man for Mendham Boro School System.  He was a devoted Catholic and Parishioner of the former Sacred Heart Parish, Vailsburg.  Salvatore loved animals, music and cooking Italian food for his family. He was also an avid artist and was known for his great sense of humor (he was a wise ass).

He is survived by Kathleen his wife of 59 years, his five children Kathleen Ehrl, her husband Ron of Bartonsville, PA., Dina Moretti and her husband Anthony or Hopatcong, Maria Chemi and her husband Robert of Byram Township, Lisa DiGiovine of Pocono Pines, PA. and Salvatore Jr. of Hopatcong, he is also survived by his twelve grandchildren, Anthony, Ronnie, Michael, Kristen, Steven, Lisa, Brianna, Dina, Jenna, Nicole, Mark & Dante and fourteen great grandchildren.

Visitation Wednesday, December 20, 2017, 4:00PM – 8:00 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph.

Funeral Mass Thursday, December 21, 2017, 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 89 Ridge St, Newark. Interment to follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Newark.
