Obituary of Lucy Black
Lucy Black, 99 of Mt. Arlington, passed away, at her home, with her family by her side in the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 18, 2017. She was born and raised in Dover, later residing in Randolph and Succasunna. Lucy was a Beautician and the Owner of Lucy’s Beauty Salon, Dover for over 50 years.
She enjoyed china painting and gardening.
Lucy was a loving mother and her kindness was seen by everyone she met. Witness to this was the outpouring of affection by her caregivers.
She is survived by two children Joanne Bernach and her husband Johnny of Binghamton, NY and Harry J. Black, Jr. and his wife Linda of Ooltewah, TN; eight grandchildren Kristin Marie Taylor and her husband Ronald of Vestal, NY, Harry J. Black, III and his wife Jennifer of Hixson, TN, Michael Victor Fiore Black and his wife Christy of Springhill, TN, Joshua David Black and his wife Lindsey of Memphis, TN, Gregory Johnathan Black and his wife Michelle of Memphis, TN, Christian Matthew Black of Ooltewah, TN, Justin David Black and his wife Sarah of Phoenix, AZ and Collin Nicholas Black and his wife Erin of Spartanburg, SC; eleven great-grandchildren; brother Eugene Porfido and his wife Virginia; sister Josephine Porfido; two sisters-in-law Margaret Porfido and Ann Porfido along with many other nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Harry J. Black, Sr. in 1998; sister Molly Mezzino and brothers Samuel Porfido, Frank Porfido and Alfonso Porfido, Jr.

Lucy’s family will be eternally grateful for the love and support that she received over the last several years by all the people that took care of her.
Visitation Friday, October 20, 2017, 2:00-4:00PM & 6:00-8:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Mass Saturday, October 21, 2017, 10:00AM at Sacred Heart Parish, Dover. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Wharton.
