Obituary of Rocco Anthony Rossi

Rocco Anthony “Rocky” Rossi, 95, of Dover, NJ passed away on August 8, 2017 after a short illness.

He was born on March 10, 1922 in Rockaway to the late Carmine and Carmela Rossi.  He has been a Dover resident since 1956.   Rocco was a 1941 graduate of Dover High School and enlisted in the Navy in 1942. He served in the Navy as a radioman second class from October 21, 1942 through January 8, 1946 when he was honorably discharged.  Rocco was a clerk for the Dover Post Office retiring from the postal service in 1984.           He was a member of the American Legion Post # 0027 of Dover and the Fox Hills Seniors bowling league.

The love of his life and wife of 59 years Aurelia “Rae” Pressimone pre-deceased him in 2007.  Brothers;  Samuel, Floria, Anthony, and William Rossi and sisters Edith Rossi, Violet Ciardi, and Gertrude Barbato also pre-deceased him.

He is survived by his beloved children who will always think of him as the best dad ever.  They include two daughters, Ruby A Malcolm and husband Richard W. and Linda M Jonas and husband Michael P. and two sons, Richard R. and fiancé Blanca Cooper, and Michael D. and wife Lisa.

He is also survived by 8 cherished grandchildren, Anthony (Maeghan) Rossi, Heather Klix (Shawn),   Ryan and Krista Malcolm, Jessica and Sara Jonas, Amanda and Debbie Rossi, and one great-grandson Rocco Anthony Rossi, his namesake.

He considered the members of the Fox Hills Seniors Bowling league at Rockaway Bowling Alleys as his other family.  An avid bowler in his earlier years he returned to the sport in 2007. He looked forward to each Wednesday to be with them.  In 2012 he received the Bowler of the year award at the age of 90.

Visitation will be held 4-8PM on Tuesday,  August  15, 2017 at the Tuttle Funeral Home , 272 Rt. 10 West, Randolph (www TuttleFH.com).  A funeral mass will be held at 11: 00 AM on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Sacred Heart Parish, 4 Richards Ave Dover.  Entombment will follow at Gates of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
