Obituary of Robert P Filipski

Robert P. Filipski, 70, of Dover, passed away after a short illness on Sunday, March 09, 2014. Robert was born in Independence Twp to the late John S. and Dorothy L. He resided in Dover most of his life. Mr. Filipski was a general store manager for Pathmark Supermarkets for 47 years before retiring in 2006. Mr. Filipski had been a member of North Jersey Street Rod Association and The Wanderes Car Club, Sussex. He was also an active member of Dover Fire Department, Board of Fire Wardens and a life member of the Dover Emergency Squad. Robert is survived by his daughter Maryanne Tortorelli and husband Michael of Mine Hill; his sons Rober T. and John R. both of Dover; Eight grandchildren: Jeffrey, Daniel, Brian, Breanna, Jessica, Joseph, Nicholas, and John; a sister Katherine O’Brien and husband George; and a brother James and wife Patricia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Nancy A. (Barzano) in 2002, his brother John J. in 1984, and his niece Suzanne in 2003. A Funeral Mass will be held 11:30AM on Wednesday March 12, 2014 at Sacred Heart Church, Dover. Visitation at Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph (Tuttlefh.com) on Monday March 10, 2014 from 4:00PM- 8:00PM and Wednesday March 12, 2014 from 9:00AM – 11:00AM. Interment at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover.
