Donald P. Cavalli, 78, of Mt. Arlington, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Morristown Medical Center. Donald was born in Hoboken, grew up in Ridgefield Park, resided in Fair Lawn and Nutley before becoming a resident of Mt. Arlington 13 years ago.

He worked as a Teacher for the Lyndhurst Board of Education and retired in 1994 after 32 years. Donald loved teaching and had a special connection with the kids and was known for his great sense of humor. Donald was the State Champion Discus Thrower in high school. He graduated from Wagner College in Staten Island in 1962, where he was quarterback on the undefeated football team of 1960. He still holds the record for throwing 52 touchdowns in one season and was inducted into the Wagner College Hall of Fame. He was also an active member of the Picatinny Golf Club.

Donald is survived by Jane his wife of ten years; three children Donald J. and his wife Denise of Ft. Myers, FL, Kevin of Pompano Beach, FL and Elizabeth Lynberg and her husband Michael of Pacific Grove, CA; five grandsons Ryan, Cory, Matthew, Andrew and Tyler; one brother Paul of Denver, CO and his first wife Gail Spooner of Chapin, SC.

Memorial Visitation Friday, June 30, 2017 6:00-8:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2017, 10:30AM at Our Lady of the Lake R.C. Church, Mt. Arlington. Interment is private.

In lieu of flowers, a funeral offering may be made in Donald’s memory to Our Lady of the Lake R.C. Church, 1 Park Ave, Mt Arlington, NJ 07856.
