Obituary of Anna D. Rosica
ANNA D. ROSICA
Retired Navy Wife, Mother, Sister, Nonni
Anna D. Rosica passed away at the age of 96 surrounded by her loving family on Friday, May 12th.
Born in Dover, Anna was the first child born to Benilda and Luciano Cicchetti.
Anna left Dover when she married her loving Husband Rocco, living in many areas of the United States from Virginia Beach to San Diego. Returning to Dover permanently to raise her family when Rocco retired from 20 years of service in the US Navy, creating a home just down the street from her childhood home.
Anna was predeceased by her beloved husband of 53 years Rocco; brothers Tito, Bergie and Dominic; sisters Ada Visioli and Alma Royek; sister-in-law and life long friend Irma Rosica; nephews Joseph Visioli and Frank Hulsman Jr.
Survived by her children son Rocco and daughter-in-law JoAnn; daughters Dolores, Mary Ann and son-in-law Craig Smith; three much loved grandchildren Matthew, Daniel and Stephanie; siblings Aldo (Anita) Cicchetti and Anita (Frank) Hulsman and sister-in-laws Chet Cicchetti and Grace Cicchetti; as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
To say Anna’s life was family orientated would be an understatement. The joy of her life was spending time with her family both immediate and extended - especially feeding anyone with meals lovingly prepared by hand in her own special way.
While Rocco was alive many afternoons were spent at sporting events watching grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews play soccer, fencing, lacrosse, football, basketball, baseball, softball.
Anna was an extraordinarily joyful and happy lady with an indomitable spirit. Music always playing in her home. One took their chances when walking into her kitchen, if Glenn Miller was playing on the radio, that you would end up dancing with Anna.
