Charles McLaughlin, 82, of Kenvil, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 at his daughter's home. Charles was born and raised in Long Branch and he lived in Orange then Rockaway Boro before moving to Kenvil 17 years ago.
He was the owner and operator, along with his brother, John, of McLaughlin Brothers' Contracting in Livingston, retiring in 1996 after 20 years. Charles served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany.
He is survived by his two children, son Donald McLaughlin and his wife Susan Estrada of San Marcos, California and daughter Doreen Lampe and her husband Richard of Kenvil; 5 grandchildren, Genevieve, Lauren, Christopher, Bryan and Megan; 3 great grandchildren, Kaleigh, Delilah and Hunter; his brother John McLaughlin of Livingston; his sister Sally Byrnes and her husband Bill of Livingston and several nieces and nephews. Charles was predeceased by his wife Catherine in 2008.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 4-8 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home in Randolph. The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 10 AM at St. Mary's R.C. Church in Wharton. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
