Obituary of Hildegard F. Touhey

Hildegard Touhey a long-time Dover resident passed away peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at the age of 94. She was surrounded by her loving family in her last moments. Married to James Touhey in June of 1944, they remained together until his passing in September of 1989. She was a devoted mother to her ten children, eight of whom survive her, Kathleen Touhey of Dover, Eileen Arentowicz (Chick) of Millington, Maureen Baldwin (Glen) of DE, Brian (Loretta) of PA, Dennis of Wharton, Timothy (Denise) of Gladsone, Patrick (Debbie) of MI and Michael of Millburn. She was the family's pillar of strength during the passing of her daughter Regina in 1961, her husband in 1989, and her son Kevin in 2016. She is also survived by her brother Otto Eggert of Brielle; sister Agnes of Homedale; daughter-in-law Annebelle Touhey of Medford;16 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. Hildegard had an infectious personality and unconditionally loved her family until the end. Her happiest times were moments surrounded by them, together, all laughing and smiling.  She had a lasting effect on all who met her and will be forever missed by all those who knew her. She will be laid to eternal rest next to her husband.
