Obituary of Dan J. Smith

Dan J. Smith, Jr., 87, of Randolph, passed away Tuesday, July 2nd, 2013, at his home, following a short illness. Dan was born in Prentiss, MS and has been a resident of Randolph since 1953. He served in the U.S. Navy, as an Airman, during WW II and the Korean War. He worked as an Electronic Technician at Picatinny Arsenal, Rockaway Township, and retired in 1993 after 42 years. He is survived by his three sons Mark of Randolph; Gregg and his wife Vanessa of Dinghams Ferry, PA, and Grant and his wife Tammy of upstate, NY; eight grandchildren, Kyle, Crystal, Ashley, Daniel, Mary, Grant, Jr., Andrew, and Emily. Predeceased by his wife Lila in 2010 after 62 years of marriage. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5th, 2013, 10 am- 12 noon at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Services will follow at 12 noon. Interment at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in his memory to the Randolph Rescue Squad, 780 State Highway 10 West, Randolph, NJ 07869.
