Obituary of Peter Joseph Miners

Peter Joseph Miners, 84, of Mine Hill, passed away Thursday, May 16th, 2013 at home, following a long illness. Peter was born in Hibernia and has been a resident of Mine Hill since 1955.
He was a member of the Mine Hill Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon and as the Sexton.
He served in the U.S. Naval Reserves and then was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He had worked as a Carpenter Millwright for Local 620 Edison/Madison in Edison, and retired in 1991 after 44 years.
Graduated Roxbury High School, class of 1946. He was a member of the V.F.W. A & H Meeker Post #2833 of Kenvil.
Survived by Edith, his wife of 62 years; daughter Rose Franz and her husband Edwin of Lafayette; two sons Peter Jay and Alfred R. both of Mine Hill; two grandchildren James, Jr. and Joseph L. and two great-grandchildren Gracelyn and Christopher.
Also survived by his daughter-in-law Diane Miners of Dover; sister Betty Pierce of Jefferson and two brothers Edward Miners of AZ and Francis Miners of VA. Predeceased by his son James, Sr. in 2010 and sisters Eileen Waldron and Gladys Goldsworthy.
Visitation Monday, May 20, 2013, 3 - 5 & 7 - 8:30 p.m. at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph. Funeral Service will follow at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
