Obituary of Joseph R. Marsicovete

Joseph R. Marsicovete passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Saint Clare's Hospital, Denville at the age of 90, after a short illness.
He was born and raised in Hoboken, NJ and later moved to Mine Hill, NJ. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from NJ Institute of Technology and his Masters Degree in Engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology.
His 40 year career was as an Engineer at the Picatinny Arsenal. He was responsible for supervising several engineers in various departments of the arsenal.
During World War II, he proudly served as a Flight Engineer on the B-24's in the US Army Air Force. He flew 50 missions over enemy territory in Europe.
He is survived by his wife Florence (neeTomkiewicz); his son Joseph C. Marsicovete and his wife Debbie and granddaughter Jean, and his daughter Annette Esposito and her husband Scott and a stepdaughter Judy Tranovich and her husband William and their three children and grandchildren in PA; a sister Anna Hipshman and a brother Vincent Marsi and many nieces and nephews and a lifelong friend Sal Russo. His first wife Jean and son John have predeceased him.
In his retirement years he and his wife, Florence have enjoyed traveling the world and he has left his footprints on all of the continents except Antartica. He also enjoyed playing golf and dancing.
Visitation Thursday, May 9, 2013, 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com).
Funeral Mass will be on Friday, May 10, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Wharton.
