Obituary of Marie C. Cleffi

Marie C. Cleffi, 94, of Dover, passed away at Holly Manor, Mendham on April 21, 2013. Marie was born on February 11, 1919 in Dover and resided in Dover her entire life. She graduated from Dover High School in 1937. After a brief career at Reliance Picture Frame Company in Dover she married and spent the rest of her life as a homemaker. She excelled in baking and cooking. She was a wonderful seamstress, known for her handmade “Raggedy Ann” dolls, many of which she donated to charities. Marie was a life member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Dover and a loyal Pasty Sale Volunteer. She also loved her neighborhood cats. Marie was the daughter of Irving Clinton Covert and Theodora Ledwith Covert of Dover. She was the widow of Henry E. Cleffi, and was preceded by her beloved son, Henry C. Cleffi. She was also preceded by her sister, Theodora “Teddy” Esposito. She leaves her sister, Alma J. Williams of Rockaway Township and her 4 nieces, Lewette Kellett of Rockaway Township, Linda Lombardo of Morris Plains, Juliet Jaremko of Madison, and Jane Williams Newmark of Mendham Township and well as many great nieces and nephews. She also leaves her dedicated neighbors, the Coehlo family. A Memorial Services will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 11. S. Bergen St., Dover on Saturday, May 18 at 2:00 pm.
