Obituary of John M. Sevek

Friday August 28, 2009 11:00 AM Service John M. (Skip) Sevek, age 58 of Rockaway, died August 19, 2009 peacefully at home after a short illness. Skip was born in Dover on April 12,1951 the fourth child of Helen and Chester Sevek, both who have predeceased him. A brother, Robert J. also died in 1982. He was a member of the US Navy, being discharged in the late 1960's. He was married twice. In 1972, he married Kathi Mathison, who died in 1980, and Jacqueline Curran, who died in 1984. Skip enjoyed salt water fishing and was an avid NJ Devils, Giants and Yankee fan. He also had a love for birds. Always by his side was his favorite conure, Blaze. He is survived by a son John M. Jr. of Germany, and daughter Kristi L. of Florida. One grandson, Thomas Spragg also of Florida. Two sisters, Joan Sevek of Florida, and Kathi Bova of Rockaway, and a brother Chester R. who lives in South Carolina. Also survived by his long time girlfriend, Doris Crossan of Rockaway and her sons, John and Mark Miller. Viewing will be Thursday, August 27, 2009, 7:00PM - 9:00PM at the funeral home. Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 28th, 11:00AM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph . Interment at Succasunna Presbyterian Cemetery, Succasunna.
