Obituary of Henry William Johnson

Henry (Hank) William Johnson, Sr., age 78, Rockaway, NJ Born in Newark, NJ on May 7, 1934 and raised in Lyndhurst, NJ by foster parents until the age of 12. Moved back to Newark with his parents. Attended Bloomfield Tech and Voc. H.S.. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps in the Korean Conflict Era. He worked for the Ford Motor Company 40 years in various positions: Receiving, Time Keeping, Shipping, Quality Control, drove semi-switching trailers in the yard. He spent 10 years salaried in Accounting Dept. Inventory Control, Claims Dept., Traffic Dept., and Computer Room. He was a member of the Civil Defense in Rockaway Township and also served as a Special Police Officer in the early 1970's. He married Mary Elizabeth Hodofarski on May 18, 1957. She went to Heaven on September 2, 2011. Hank belonged to Retirees Chapter 2210 of the United Auto Workers Union. Survivors are his three children; Justine, Henry Jr. and Kim Ann also his dog Stosh. Three grandchildren; Joseph Horvath IV, Nicole Johnson and Michael Johnson, and great-granddaughter Aubrey. His sister (predeceased Dolores Errickson) and brother-in-law Frank. Hank was an honest, giving, loving man. He had stellar values and would help anyone in need. He had a great sense of humor and was highly intelligent. Always had a positive attitude saying, "There's always sunshine after the rain". He was the best husband, father, brother, son and worker. He loved the New Jersey shore and vintage cars. Everyone that knew him loved him. He will be very missed. Visitation Tuesday, April 2, 2013, 3 - 5 & 7 - 9 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph, NJ (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Services will also be on Tuesday, 8:30 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be appreciated.
