Obituary of Michael Francis Vincent McVey

Michael Francis Vincent McVey, 78, passed away on Thursday, February 20th, 2014, at St. Clare’s Hospital, Dover. Michael was the seventh of nine children, and joined the family on May 24, 1938. He spent most of his early years in Madison and Morristown before residing in Dover. Michael attended St. Vincent Martyr School, Madison and St. Margaret School, Morristown. A short time after graduating from Madison High School, he joined the Army, and served overseas during the Korean War. For over 20 years, Michael was employed at Automatic Switch Co., Florham Park, and retired in May, 2000. Michael found pleasure walking outdoors, and enjoyed taking long walks. Michael was predeceased by his father John G. McVey and his mother Mary Ann Allen McVey; his sisters Mary and Teresa McVey Smith. He is survived by his brothers John A. of Manchester, Paul R. of Rochester, NY: his sisters Bernadette Fredericks of Pine Hurst, NC, Susan Loia of Rockaway, Margaret Vegt of St. Augustine, FL, Cecelia Shannon of Stone Mountain, GA; and family friend Robert Graham of Dover; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25th, 2014 from 2:00-6:00 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 26th, 2014 at St. Cecilia’s Church, Rockaway. Interment to follow at St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Madison.
