On Saturday, February 23rd, 2013, Stanford Harry White also known as "Stan the Man" or to his loved ones "Pop Pop or Stan" was called into God's grace after succumbing to complications of his long battle with Alzheimer's.
Pop was born to the late Harry and Ethel White on March 9th, 1923 in New Brunswick, but later moved to Morristown, where he resided until his final transition.
During WWII, Stan served in the United States Army as a Private 1st Class with the 3078th Ordinance Motor Vehicle Distribution Company stationed in Rhineland, Northern France. He would serve his beloved country from June 21st;, 1943 until being Honorably Discharged on December 19th, 1945 but not without being rewarded with the European African Middle Eastern Ribbon, Good Conduct and Victory Medals along with becoming a boxer later fighting in the Golden Gloves Division.
After the Army, Stan would become employed by Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, where he started as a Janitor and worked his way up to Chemical Engineer where he would make Nitro Glycerin and work on projects like the Star Wars program until finally retiring in 1987 after 42 years. Anyone who knows Stan knows his good heart couldn't rest, so he began driving for ARC escorting the mentally and physically challenged to their destinations up until he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's.
Brigadier General Stanford H. White will be long respected by the American Legion Post 312, the Lodge Rose of Sharon, the Van Dunk Rose of Sharon and the Knights of Pythias.
