Obituary of Ronald W. Riechmann

Ronald W. Riechmann, 72, passed away February 17, 2014, at Morristown Medical Center, surrounded by family. He grew up in the small farming town of Wilbur, Wash., 65 miles west of Spokane. Known for his clever wit, he worked 20 years as a reporter and editor for United Press International (UPI) serving bureaus in Spokane, Chicago, Detroit, Columbus and Boston before relocating to New Jersey to work the remainder of his career for Bell Communications Research (now Ericsson). After graduating from Gonzaga University, he served as an officer in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Rosemary Riechmann of Randolph, N.J.; his brothers Marvin Riechmann (Wardine) of Wilbur, Wash., and Dennis Riechmann of Sacramento, Calif.; children Mark Riechmann (Anne Marie) of Klamath Falls, Ore., Leigh Fagan of Rockaway Twp., N.J., and Sharon Lynn Riechmann (Jordan Cook) of Sarasota, Fla.; six grandchildren: Caitlin and Meghan Riechmann, Mathew and Timothy Fagan, Landon and Siena Cook; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mark Riechmann and Louise (Haasl) Riechmann (McMillan), and his niece Pamela Riechmann. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10, Randolph, (www.tuttlefh.com ). A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014, 12:00 PM, also at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please send donations to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38148.
