Obituary of Donald Thomas Pizzi

Donald T. Pizzi, 74, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, formerly of Morris Township and Florham Park passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Morristown Medical Center.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Matthew the Apostle Church, 335 Dover Chester Road, Randolph, NJ on Wednesday, January 9 at 10:00 AM. Family and friends will be received immediately following the service.
Donald was born in Newark, NJ. He lived in Morris County for many years before retiring to Little Egg Harbor, Ocean County, four years ago. Prior to retiring, he worked as a Manufacturing Engineer at ASCO Power & Technologies in Florham Park.
Donald was an outstanding athlete and sports enthusiast. He was inducted into the Bloomfield College Hall of Fame for his athletic accomplishments. He was an avid bowler who bowled a perfect “300” game in 2003. He also loved playing the game of golf. In addition, he was a most enthusiastic New York Yankees fan.
For many years, Donald devoted much time as a volunteer coaching Little League and Babe Ruth baseball teams for Morristown. He was also a member of the Florham Park Knights of Columbus.
Donald is survived by his wife of 48 years Mary Ann (Palmisano) and his sons Donald of Springfield, and Jeffrey and his wife Kerri of Randolph. He was the proud grandfather of two granddaughters, Hannah 11, and Amanda 8. He is also survived by his brother Vincent of Arizona.
