John “Jack” King Huston, Jr., 91 a resident of Stamford, CT and Greenlawn, NY died peacefully on December 29, 2012 in Morristown, NJ after a long and happy life. Born December 26, 1921 to the late John King Huston and Edith (Rasmussen), Jack had fond memories of his early childhood in Rockaway Beach, Long Island. He was a member of the Huntington High School Class of 1940 and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. In 1966, he received his bachelor’s degree from C.W. Post College in Long Island. Jack was a founding member of the Huntington Bicycle Club and spent his entire 45 year career at Fairchild Republic Aviation in Farmingdale, Long Island. He retired in 1987 as a quality control director with his proudest achievement being his work with NASA on the initial Space Shuttle and the A-10 "Warthog". Jack was predeceased by his beloved wife of 47 years, Joan (Mulligan) whom he met while vacationing in Lake George, NY and his sister Clara Eileen Sargent. He is survived by his three sons, John and his wife Susan of Randolph, NJ; Paul and his wife Linda of Greenwich, CT; and Mark of Stamford, CT; and four grandchildren - Michael and Jennifer Huston, and Michael and David Perretta. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Harry Sargent, sister-in-law Marguerite (Mulligan) Boutin and many loving nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors and staff at both Morristown Memorial and Stamford hospitals for all their care and kindness over Jack’s final months. Friends may visit with the family at Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph, NJ (Tuttlefh.com) on Saturday January 5, 2013 from 10:00AM – 12 Noon. A memorial service will follow at 12 Noon at the funeral home. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, Eastern Division, Inc., 6725 Lyons Street, PO Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057.
