Obituary of Jeanne Angela Schmitt

Jeanne Angela Schmitt, 90, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 in Randolph, NJ. She was born November 29, 1922 in New York City, and is a graduate of Aldelphi College, Garden City, NY. She married John Clemens Schmitt on January 25, 1947. Sadly, John departed this life in July of 2011 also at the age of 90. Jeanne worked for Price Waterhouse, Exxon, Jersey Carpet Corp., and Carson Pirie Scott in Accounting and Statistical Sales positions. Jeanne and John raised their 3 daughters in Fair Lawn, NJ, then moved to Pen Argyl PA in 1992, where they lived until 2010. Jeanne was a caring and compassionate person who volunteered her time for many years with the Meals on Wheels program. She was an avid animal lover, bird watcher and environmentalist, enjoyed golf, bowling, bridge, and reading, and absolutely loved being a Grandma to Kathryn Jae. Jeanne valued honesty and found the good in everyone she met. A more beautiful soul will never grace this earth. Jeanne is survived by her 3 daughters: Cynthia Rhea Ahrianya of Scottsdale, AZ, Christine C. Greenberg and husband Steve of Spring Hill, Fl. and Celine C. Wanner and husband Kurt, of Stanhope, NJ. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Kathryn Jae Wanner and Keith Greenberg, and her brother, Stanley Smith of Bucksport Maine and his wife Marcia. A Memorial Service will be held at Tuttle Funeral Home in Randolph, NJ (Tuttlefh.com) on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at 2:00PM. A memorial visitation will also be held on Sunday, December 23, 2012 from 1:00PM – 2:00PM at the funeral home.
