Obituary of Henry C. Cleffi

Henry C. Cleffi, 60, of Dover, NJ and Gilbert, AZ, passed away on November 28, 2012 as the result of complications from an injury. Henry was born on September 19, 1952 in Dover. He was graduated from Dover High School in 1970 and received a Bachelor of Arts from Seton Hall University in 1974 and a Masters of Arts in Communications from William Paterson College in 1982.
He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years beginning in Dover as a part-time student employee. He remained with the Post Office after college graduation and was promoted to increased levels of responsibility in NJ. In 1988 he was promoted to Director of Marketing in northern Virginia and relocated to Alexandria, VA. He was then promoted to the USPS headquarters in Washington, DC where his last job was Associate Vice President of Sales. He took the early retirement in 2001 and became Director of Postal Affairs for the Mailing & Fulfillment Service Association in Alexandria, VA. In 2003 he left that job and began a new career in real estate sales with Weichert, Realtors. He built a vacation home in Gilbert, AZ and since that time traveled between his NJ and AZ homes.
Henry had a great personality, creative intelligence, work ethic, and sense of humor. Throughout his career Henry was a mentor to scores of employees and co-workers. His untimely and sudden departure has saddened his numerous friends and colleagues.
Henry was the son of Henry E. Cleffi and Marie E. (Covert) Cleffi. He leaves his mother, Marie Cleffi of Dover, his cousins Lewette Kellett of Rockaway Township, Linda Lombardo of Morris Plains, Juliet Jaremko of Madison, and Jane Williams Newmark of Mendham Township, as well as other cousins and family members. He also leaves many, many friends and associates who have enjoyed his company.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 14 from 3-5 and 7-9 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 Route 10 West, Randolph, NJ www.Tuttlefh.com. Relatives and friends are invited to attend services at St. John's Episcopal Church, 11 S. Bergen Street, Dover, NJ on Saturday, December 15 at 11 AM.
Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery in Dover.
