Obituary of Jacob Barton Mains

Jacob Barton Mains, age 17 died peacefully in his sleep on Monday July 16, 2012. He resided in Dover his entire life. He was a gifted guitarist who could often be found under a tree or in the basement jamming. Jacob attended Dover Public School as well as Hunterdon Learning Center in Califon, NJ. He worked at Shop Rite of Wharton as well as taking his first college class at County College of Morris. In Jacob’s short life, he touched the lives of everyone he met. Jacob is survived by his loving parents Robert and Laura, and his adoring brother Luke, his grandmother Ernestine Kattermann Thwaites, and his precious dog, Emma, all of Dover, NJ. Also survived by Aunts and Uncles: Cleave and Chris Thwaites (Danbury, CT), Jean and Rob Schulkin (Norwood, NJ); Jan and Phil Woffindin (Allentown, PA), Sarah and Don Fritch (Dover, NJ); Don Mains (Ford City, PA), Jim and Angela Mains (Newport Coast, CA); Mary and Bill Inglis (Dover, NJ); Godparents: Peter Urban and Amy Brodock. Cousins: Jonathan and Andrew Thwaites; Kate, Abby, Libby and Gabe Woffindin; Charlotte, Wesley, and Will Fritch; Madeline Mains; Sarah, Rebecca, and Nate Inglis. Jacob was predeceased by grandparents Don and Linda Mains, and Jonathan Cleaver Thwaites. To keep Jacob’s memory alive, the family asks that you listen to music, ask questions about the world around you, give hugs, watch Phineas and Ferb, and go on many adventures. Visitation is at Tuttle Funeral Home, Route 10 West in Randolph www.Tuttlefh.com on Wednesday July 18 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. A service will be held Thursday July 19 at Tuttle Funeral Home at 11 a.m. followed by interment at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover. The family requests that you wear bright colors to celebrate Jacob’s life. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Jacob Mains Memorial Fund.
