Obituary of Peter Robert Lawson

Peter Robert Lawson "Pete the barber", 70, died on June 25th, 2012 at Franciscan Oaks in Denville. Born in New York City and raised in Massachusetts. Mr. Lawson honorably served in the United States Marine Corps. He lived in Mendham for 13 years where he operated the Borough barbershop. He was captain of the Mendham Colonials hockey team. After moving to Rockaway Township, he operated the Mt. Hope Haircutters for 35 years. He retired from Picatinny Arsenal in 2008 after 33 years, where he worked as a security specialist.
Mr. Lawson proudly served as Commander of the American Legion Post #344 in Rockaway Township from 2000 - 2003. He was a member of Cincinnati Lodge #3 F&AM where he was Worshipful Master in 1972. He was also a member of the VFW #3401.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linnea of Rockaway, his daughter, Lorie Holland and husband Glenn of Rockville, MD, his daughter, Dale Toledo and husband Eddie of Rockaway and his son Peter Erland Lawson of Rockaway. Also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Logan and Maxwell Toledo and Kate and Will Holland.
Visitation Thursday, June 28th, 2012, 2 - 4 & 6 - 9 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com).
Funeral Services will also be held at the funeral home 10:00 AM on Friday, June 29th, 2012. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover.
