Larry I. Kron, 70, of Randolph, NJ passed away at Morristown Memorial Hospital on January 28, 2014, after a four-year bravely-fought battle with myelodysplastic syndrome and leukemia. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Monday, February 3, 2014 from 10:00AM - 11:00AM at Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph (Tuttlefh.com) followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00AM. The son of the late Milton and Frieda Kron, he was born in Newark on November 15, 1943 and grew up in Passaic. He was a resident of Randolph for the past 42 years. Larry graduated from Passaic High School in 1961, RutgersUniversity in 1965 and Seton Hall Law School in 1968, when he was admitted to the NJ Bar. After serving for several years as an Assistant Prosecutor in Passaic County, he relocated to Morris County and began private practice. For many years, he practiced in various locations throughout the area and with several partners and associates, finally becoming a partner in the firm of Nusbaum, Stein, Goldstein, Bronstein and Kron in Succasunna. Larry served the Township of Randolph as Municipal Court Judge in the late nineteen seventies. Over the years he was the attorney for many area boards and authorities. Recently he served as a member of the planning committee for the 50th Reunion of the Passaic High School Class of 1961. He was a Board Member of the Georgica Estates Property Owners Association. He also spent many years playing softball in local men’s leagues. He loved to hike, bike and walk and was a life-time member and hike leader for the East Hampton NY Trails Preservation Society. He was very proud of the fact that he climbed Mount Washington twice in his sixties. His love of travel and hiking led him to visit many places around the world, including Tanzania and the Serengeti, New Zealand, the Galapagos, Italy and England, to mention a few. His most treasured moments, however, were those spent traveling, celebrating holidays and visiting with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years , Judith, his beloved daughters and sons-in law Jennifer Kron and David Radzanowski of Washington, DC and Dr. Jordana Kron and Dr. John Reavey-Cantwell of Richmond, VA. He was adored Pop- Pop to grandsons Alexander and Elliott Reavey-Cantwell, the joys of his life. In lieu of flowers, donations in Larry's memory can be made to the Friends of Tanzania, PO Box 9123, Arlington, VA 22219-1123 or Livingston NJ Public Library.
