Jeanne Rudensey, nee Jeanne Carson, passed away Sunday June 10, 2012 at the Regency Grande nursing home in Dover, N.J.
Jeanne was born in Paterson N.J. November 10, 1926 and grew up in Mine Hill, attending Mine Hill and Dover school systems. She then graduated Dover High School and attended Newark State Teachers College. Later, with her desire and talent for style, art, and design, she attended Traphagan School of Fashion in New York City.
Jeanne was married to Elliott Rudensey December 28th, 1947 (during the blizzard of 47).
Jeanne loved reading, weekly bridge (master points) and canasta games and daily phone conversations with her family and friends. She was a 62 year member of the Dover Jewish Center and Adath Shalom Synagogue. She was a long standing member of Hadassah, Brandeis Women’s Club and the Garden State Yacht Club, Hopatcong, N.J.
Jeanne was co-administrator with her husband, owner-proprietor of Dover Upholstering Co., Succasunna, N.J. for 24 years where she excelled in home decorating and fabric sales.
Jeanne is survived by her husband Elliott (a marriage of 64 years), her two daughters, Susan R. Magos and husband James L. Magos of Tewksbury, and Ellen Ebenstein at home. She is also survived by her three cherished grandchildren, Amy N. Magos Alexander DPT and husband Craig Alexander, Brian J. Magos and Jeffrey Ebenstein.
Jeanne was a lively and energetic woman with a sparkling personality who loved spending time with her family and friends. Jeanne was loved by all and will be missed by all those whose life’s she touched.
The family is indebted to the wonderful care giving of the nurses and staff at Regency Grande Nursing & Rehabilitation Center (special thanks to Kathy Schmidth) who helped bring comfort to Jeanne’s last few months.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, 1:00 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10, Randolph, NJ. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. (www.tuttlefh.com). Interment will follow at Dover Mt. Sinai Jewish Cemetery, Randolph.
