Obituary of Grace Carson

Grace Carson (Hoffman) died peacefully on May 29 at home in Sparta NJ with her children at her side. She was 88. Grace was born in Guttenberg NJ and lived in Sparta since 1983 with her husband of 59 years, Charles R Carson, Sr. Grace became a Registered Nurse in 1979 and worked as visiting nurse for Sussex County. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother to her 5 grandchildren, she enjoyed line dancing as a member of the Sparta Senior Center and belonged to two book clubs. Grace was a fan of Barbershop Quartet singing and actively supported her husband’s participation in the Morris Music Men for over 35 years. She laughed often and always had friends and family who loved to be with her. Her husband Charles died in 2009 and Grace was also predeceased by her parents, brothers Valentine and Martin Hoffman, and sister Marie Anacker. Grace is survived by her daughters Trudy Lissy of Succasunna NJ, Cynthia Bachman and her husband James of Massachusetts, and son Charles Robert, Jr. (Bob) and his wife Janet of Whippany NJ. She is also survived by nephews Harold Anacker of Pennsylvania; William Anacker of Florida; Joseph Carson of Florida, nieces Dorothy Anacker of Delaware and Donna (Carson) Gustavsen of Rhode Island, as well as her beloved grandchildren James, Glenne, Andrew, and Alex Bachman of Massachusetts, and Kara Lissy of Succasunna NJ. Visitation Thursday, May 31, 2012, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012, 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Somerset Hills Cemetery in Basking Ridge.
