Obituary of John Howard Beck

John Howard Beck, 65, of Mendham Township, NJ passed away on Monday, April 2, 2012. Memorial Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, 3:00 - 5:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services celebrating his life at St. John's Episcopal Church, 11 S. Bergen Street, Dover, NJ 07801 on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 10:00 AM, followed by a private interment. John was born on April 30, 1946 in Mount Lebanon, a suburb of Pittsburgh, PA. He resided in the Brookside area of Mendham Township for most of his life. He graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School and attended Penn State University. His working career was in international telecommunications systems engineering at Lucent Technologies, previously Bell Laboratories. He is a past president of Noah's Ark Animal Welfare Association and was active in St. John's Episcopal Church, where he served on the Vestry. During his retirement years, he worked at Chester Vacuum and Sewing Center in Chester, NJ and on various repair jobs. He loved animals and was involved in animal rescue for his entire life. He was also a computer and electronics hobbyist and could fix anything. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. John was the son of Ronald Beck and Ruth Kraber Beck. He was the father of Allison Jane Manfred (and Bryan Patrick Manfred) of Randolph, NJ and Adrienne Theodora Beck of Morristown, NJ. He will be greatly missed by grandchildren Brady Paul Manfred and Abigail Jane Manfred.
