Obituary of James Henry Osborne

James Henry Osborne, 83, of Ledgewood, died peacefully on February 3, 2012. Born in Highland Park, MI, Mr. Osborne served overseas as a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He graduated Fairleigh Dickinson University, and retired from Eaton Corporation as a plant manager in 1992. He was active with the Boy Scouts for over 40 years and was a Silver Beaver recipient, and was a past Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus in Lincoln Park. Mr. Osborne was also a member of the Men’s Corps at Chilton Hospital and later volunteered at St. Clares. He resided in Pequannock for 40 years, and then in Ledgewood. He served as eucharistic minister at Holy Spirit Church and St. Therese Church. He was the loving husband of Roberta (Bobbie) nee: Bogan for 56 years, and is survived by his beloved children Deborah and her husband Wayne, Greg and his fiancee Joyce, Karen, Jim and his wife Amy, and Steve and his wife Rose. Loving grandfather of 6 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, and 3 great grandsons. He has one surviving brother, Charles of AZ, and was predeceased by two brothers, John and Robert. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph Twp (Tuttlefh.com). Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Therese Church in Succasunna at 11am on Wednesday, February 8, 2012. Burial will follow immediately at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to: Boy Scouts of America, Patriots’ Path Council.
