Obituary of Murray Leonard Leach

Murray Leonard Leach Former Owner of Dover Photo Supply, 85, of Randolph Murray Leonard Leach, died at home Saturday, January 14, 2012 after an 11 year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Mr. Leach was born July 20,1926 in Newark to the late Gordon Leach and Mary Leach Kugelmeyer. He was predeceased by his older brother William, and is survived by his three sisters Lorraine Decker of Lehighton, PA, Norma Jean Creelman of Far Hills, and Audrey Conklin of Montville; and two half-sisters Blanche Hepplewhite of Succasunna, and Gwen Logan of Farmdale, OH. Mr. Leach was a 1944 graduate of Boonton High School and a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a radio operator in the Pacific Theater of World War II from 1944 until 1946. Upon returning home, his love of photography led him to a sales position at Dover Photo Supply in Dover. Over the span of 55 years, Mr. Leach helped build a successful retail business that was well-known and respected throughout the area and within the photographic industry. In 1960, Polaroid Corporation awarded Dover Photo Supply “Dealer of the Year” for selling the most Polaroid cameras in the country. Mr. Leach was also a previous owner of Denville Camera Shop in Denville and past president of the Kiwanis Club in Dover. He loved to golf and was a former member of Newton Country Club. He is survived by his loving wife, Marie (nee DeRosa) and their five children: Mark and wife, Donna of Annandale; Marilyn Marzzacco and husband Gordon of Sterling, VA; Stephen, David and wife, Joanne and Michael and wife, Nicole all of Randolph. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Michael, Gianna, John, Christopher, Megan and Jenna. A visitation with family will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2012 from 3PM-7PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 Route 10, Randolph (Tuttlefh.com). A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 10:00AM. Burial will follow at St. Teresa of Avila Cemetery, Summit. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. www.alzfdn.org.
