Tuesday May 19th,2009 10:00 am Mass Anthony William Strano Mr. Anthony William Strano, 82 of Rockaway Twp., passed away Friday May 15th,2009 at his home after a long illness. Born in Newark, He was a resident of Rockaway Twp. for the last 46 years . Previously of Irvington. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He recieved his Undergarduate and Masters degrees in Mechanical Engineering from N.J.I.T. in Newark and also his proffessional engineers liscense. He worked as a mechanical engineer for Picatinny Arsenal in Dover for 30 years retiring in 1982.He was a Parishioner of St. Clement Pope and Martyr Church in Rockaway Twp., a member and past president of the American Defense Preparedness Association of Picatinny Arsenal,and member and past president of the Morris Hills Regional High School Board of Education for 20 years.He was also an avid golfer. He is survived by Eleanor (Li Causi), his wife of 53 years. One son, Marc Anthony and his wife Michele of West Newbury, MA. One daughter, Paula Isobe and her husband Stillman "Guy" of Phoenix, AZ. One sister, Concetta Burghardt of Rockaway Twp. and one Sister-in-law, Catherine Catalano and her husband Giordano of Irvington and also many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday, May 18th, from 3-5 and 7-9pm at Tuttle Funeral Home 272 Rt. 10 West, Randolph,NJ 07869 (973) 366-7400 Tuttlefh.com A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am at St. Clement Pope and Martyr Church in Rockaway Twp. on Tuesday May 19th. The interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to either: Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center PO Box 27106 NY,NY 10087-7106, The American Stroke/ Heart Association 1 Union St. Suite 301 Robbinsville, NJ 08691-4183 or a charity of your choice.
