Obituary of Joseph Horchor

Joseph Horchor, 86, of Dover, passed away after a short illness on Saturday,December 10, 2011 at St. Clares Hospital in Denville. Mr. Horchor was born and raised in Graceton,PA and lived in Montclair before moving to Dover in 1959.He served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He worked as a Fabricator for Westinghouse in Randolph for 25 years, retiring in 1987. Prior to that, he had been a Foreman at Lock Joint Pipe Co. in Wharton for 14 years.Mr. Horchor was a a parishioner of Saints Peter & Paul Orthodox Christian Church in Rockaway. He was also a left handed pitcher for the NY Giants Semi-Pro Baseball Team during the 1940's. He is survived by Esther,his wife of 62 years,His son: Joseph T. of Sparta, Two daughters: Barbara Byk of Dover and Justine Horchor of Oak Ridge, Two sisters: Margaret Pramik of Barberton,OH and Susan Alexander of Penn Run,PA as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters: Kate Daskivich and Anna Horchor. The visitation will be on Wednesday,December 14, 2011 from 3-5 & 7-9 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home in Randolph www.Tuttlefh.com The funeral service will be on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Saints Peter & Paul Orthodox Christian Church in Rockaway. The interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery in Dover. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to: The Memorial Fund of Saints Peter & Paul Orthodox Christian Church, 64 Beach St., Rockaway,NJ 07866
