Obituary of Jeffrey Allen Smith

Jeffrey Allen Smith Jeffrey Allen Smith, 49, of Rockaway Township, NJ, passed away Monday, November 28th, 2011 at home, following a short illness. Jeffrey was born in Bitburg, Germany and has been a resident of Rockaway Township since 1991, moved here from Bellevue, NE. He worked as a Supervisory Mechanical Engineer at Picatinny Arsenal, Rockaway Township, NJ, for 23 years. Jeffrey graduated from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, NE. He was an avid golfer and a soccer coach for Rockaway Township. He also played baseball, basketball, and soccer at Picatinny Arsenal. Jeffrey is survived by Juanita, his wife of 20 years; two sons Michael E. Smith at home and Aaron W. Hawkins and his wife Jessica of Fort Bliss, TX; three daughters Christina D. Smith at home, Angelina M. Hawkins of PA, and Alishia D. Hawkins at home. Also survived by two grandchildren Hailey and Rylee; his parents Richard and Virginia Smith of Gretna, NE and his brother Gregory Scott Smith also of Gretna, NE. At the family's request there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church, 126 Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Dover, NJ 07801 (973-361-8870) at 10:30 AM on Friday, December 2nd, 2011. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Lustgarten Foundation, 1111 Stewart Avenue, Bethpage, NY 11714. Arrangements by Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph, NJ (www.tuttlefh.com).
