Obituary of Jeffrey Allen Smith

Jeffrey Allen Smith Jeffrey Allen Smith, 49, of Rockaway Township, NJ, passed away Monday, November 28th, 2011 at home, following a short illness. Jeffrey was born in Bitburg, Germany and has been a resident of Rockaway Township since 1991, moved here from Bellevue, NE. He worked as a Supervisory Mechanical Engineer at Picatinny Arsenal, Rockaway Township, NJ, for 23 years. Jeffrey graduated from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, NE. He was an avid golfer and a soccer coach for Rockaway Township. He also played baseball, basketball, and soccer at Picatinny Arsenal. Jeffrey is survived by Juanita, his wife of 20 years; two sons Michael E. Smith at home and Aaron W. Hawkins and his wife Jessica of Fort Bliss, TX; three daughters Christina D. Smith at home, Angelina M. Hawkins of PA, and Alishia D. Hawkins at home. Also survived by two grandchildren Hailey and Rylee; his parents Richard and Virginia Smith of Gretna, NE and his brother Gregory Scott Smith also of Gretna, NE. At the family's request there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church, 126 Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Dover, NJ 07801 (973-361-8870) at 10:30 AM on Friday, December 2nd, 2011.
