George Campell Dodd died on Wednesday, October 5th, 2011 in Clearwater, Florida after a long illness. He was 79 years old. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Dover in 1950. He served in the United States Air Force with an Honorable Discharge in 1947. Mr. Dodd was a certified welder with Pipefitters Local Union 274 for 39 years, retiring in 1993. He moved to Clearwater, Florida in 2001 where he lived with his long time companion Karen Utter. He was predeceased by his wife Mafalda J. "Dolly" Dodd in 1988. Mr. Dodd leaves behind his son George R. Dodd of Albrightsville, PA, daughter Angela R. Smith of Wharton, son Joseph A. Dodd of Dover and James P. Dodd and his wife JoAnn of Dover, his beloved grandchildren Danielle Hitchuk and her husband Roger of Jefferson, Dana Duryee and husband John of Millington, Lyndsey Dodd of Ledgewood, James Bono of South Jersey, Joseph Dodd of Dover, Kyle Harris of Wharton and Kyla and James Dodd Jr. of Dover and three great-grandchildren. Visitation Sunday, October 9th, 2011, 1:00 - 5:00 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, October 10th, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in his memory to The Deborah Hospital Foundation, New Jersey Region, PO Box 820, Browns Mills, NJ 08015-0820
