Obituary of Phyllis Jane Fisher

Wednesday May 6, 2009 11:00 AM Service at Church Phyllis Jane Fisher Mrs. Phyllis Jane Fisher, 74, of Dover passed away Thursday, April 30, 2009 surrounded by family and friends at Saint Clares Hospital, Dover, following a short illness. Lifelong resident of Dover. Mrs. Fisher was born in Dover. She was a very active lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church, Dover. Phyllis was also a longtime member of the church choir, and the United Methodist Women. She worked as a secretary at Dover/West Morris Chamber of Commerce, Dover for ten years. As a teen she was a member of the Rainbow Girls. She graduated Dover High School in 1952 and was past-president of the Dover High School Band Boosters. She was a Staff Secretary of Prudential Insurance in Morristown and ECC in Denville. She was mostly known as a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother. Survived by Raymond, her husband of 56 years; her son Scott and his wife Patty of Greenwich, CT, two daughters Cindy Fisher Thomas and her husband Lee of Jackson Township, PA, and Nancy Reilly and husband Dan of Ledyard, CT. Also survived by nine grandchildren: Craig, Matt, Jeff, Chris, Zach, Emily, Alex, Lindsay, and Stephen; two brothers Bob and Ronny Gilbert. Predeceased by her brothers Jack, Bill, and Dick Gilbert. Funeral Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 41 East Blackwell Street, Dover, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2009.
