Willard L. Metz, Sr., 82, of Mine Hill, passed away Monday, September 5, 2011 at Saint Clare’s Hospital, Dover after a short illness. Willard was born in Dover and resided in Succasunna before moving to Mine Hill in 1963. He was as a transportation driver for Picatinny Arsenal, Rockaway Twp retiring in 1983 after 35 years. Mr. Metz served in the U.S Army during the Korean War. He was an avid fisherman, reader, and motorcyclist. Willard is survived by his two children Willard L. Jr. and his wife Mary of Succasunna, and Debra Miller of Budd Lake, six grandchildren William Metz, John Syfor, Harmony McDonald, Jeffrey Pulver, William Miller, and Maxx Miller. Also survived by four great grandchildren Jackson and Kylie McDonald, Violet and Ian Pulver, and a sister Dorothy Metz of Parsippany. He is predeceased by his loving wife Violet in 2010, and his daughter Bonnie Pulver in 2001. Funeral Services will be held at the Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 Route 10, Randolph at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 10, 2011. Visitation is Friday, September 9, 2011, 3:00 – 5:00 PM & 7:00 – 9:00 PM at the funeral home. (www.tuttlefh.com) Interment will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Randolph.
