Obituary of Violet M. Higgs

Memorial Service at a later date Violet M. Higgs Higgs, Violet M. Higgs, 86, a lifelong resident of Dover and the Boonton area, passed away on April 28, 2009 at Saint Clares Hospital, Denville, NJ. Mrs. Higgs was born on May 4, 1923 to the late Mr. John and Grace (Clark) Miller in Dover, NJ. She is preceded in death by her husband Joe Bolcar, their son Wayne after complications of an automobile accident in 1963, her second husband Williams Higgs, Jr., and her sister June (Miller) Just. She is survived by niece Gail Just-Cornelius and husband Barry of Willow, AK, great-nephew Brett Just- Cornelius of Willow, AK, great-nephew Michael Just-Cornelius of Elizabeth, NJ, and niece Judy Just Price and husband Paul of Albuquerque, NM. Violet married William Higgs Jr. in 1958 and they lived on Berry Street, and later on Basswood Avenue, in Dover. After William's death, she lived in the Spruce Street Senior Citizen Apartments and more recently in the Regency Grand Nursing Home on Sussex Street, Dover. Violet was employed by Picatinny Arsenal, Dover, NJ from 1941-1945 as a munitions loader during WWII and returned to Picatinny in the late 1960's for a short time. A nature lover, Violet had a love for birds and homeless animals. A memorial service will be held graveside at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover, at a date to be determined. An announcement will be released shortly before the memorial service date with details. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Best Friends Animal Society, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, UT (435-644-2001).
