Anthony F. DeStefano, 87, of Morris Plains, died August 6, 2011 at home. Born December 23, 1923 in Jersey City, NJ, he was a resident of Morris Plains since 1972. He was self-employed for 30 years with a livery service, Destefano & Sons Livery, Jersey City, NJ. Anthony was a veteran of the US Army, serving 1943-1946. He was a member of St. Virgil's R.C. Church in Morris Plains. Upon retiring from his livery business in 1971, he became manager of the Morris Plains Lanes until 1991.
Predeceased by his wife, Frances in 1991; and his 5 brothers and 1 sister. Survived by his daughter, Maryann Ferry and husband Frank of Lake Hiawatha; and 2 grandchildren, Michael and Marie.
Visitation Tuesday, 3-5 and 7-9pm at Tuttle Funeral Home. Mass Wednesday, August 10, 2011, 11:00am at St. Virgil's R.C. Church, Morris Plains, NJ. Burial will follow. Arrangements by Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 Highway 10, Randolph Township, NJ 07869 (973-366-7400).
