George T. Simmons, Jr., 80, of Mt. Arlington, passed away Saturday, July 23rd, 2011 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, following a long illness. George was born in Dover and has been a resident of Mt. Arlington for nine years. Moved here from Lake Hopatcong where he resided for 40 years.
He served in the U.S. Army with the 82nd Airborne Division during the Korean War.
He worked as a Supervisor at Hercules Incorporated, Kenvil. Retired in 1992 after 38 years.
George is survived by two sons George T. III of Mt. Arlington and Mark of Brentwood, NH; two daughters Lucinda Simmons of Landing and Laura LoBuono of Valley Cottage, NY.
He is also survived by many grandchildren & great grandchildren, and his dear friend & companion Helen Schatel and his cat Kitty. Predeceased by his wife Nettie and son Donald.
Memorial Visitation Saturday, July 30th, 2011, 9 - 10:00 A.M. at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Memorial Service will follow at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover.
In lieu of flowers donations are requested in his memory to: ASPCA (ASPCA.org).
