Obituary of Nelson L. Matos

Nelson Matos, 56, died July 7, 2011 at his home. He was born in 1954 in San Juan, P.R. & raised in Newark. He is a graduate of Barringer H.S. and alumnus of Morris County College & Rutger's University. His career was in telecommunications spans 39 years and most recently was the Sr. Project Mgr. at Telcordia Technologies, Inc. He has been a proud resident of Randolph for the past 29 years, and an active participant in the community. He coached several youth leagues and was instrumental in the development of Randolph's Trail System. Mr. Matos was past President of the Kiwanis Club of Randolph and was truly an upstanding citizen and man in every respect. Nelson is survived by his fiance, Margaret Licon and her daughters Clarice & Mary. He was the first born & beloved son of Ines and a role model to his siblings, Nelcy, Nestor, Norma, Norberto, Normando, Sandra & Sarah. He leaves behind several nieces, and nephews all whom will treasure the memories of their Uncle Nelson. He will be greatly missed by many friends & family. To know him was to love him. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2011, 3:00 - 8:00 PM at the Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Mass will be held Friday, July 15, 2011, 11:00 A.M. at Resurrection Parish in Randolph. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to The Randolph Recreation Booster Club, c/o Randolph Recreation Dept. 502 Millbrook Ave. Randolph, NJ 07869
