Obituary of Stephen J. O'Mara

Due to inclement weather the Funeral mass for Mr. O'Mara has been changed to Saturday, January 4, 2013 at 10:00AM. The visitation will still be on Thursday,Though it may end early due to weather. Stephen J. O'Mara, 73, resident of Randolph since 1968, passed away Tuesday, December 24th, 2013 at Compassionate Care Hospice, Dover. Stephen was born in NYC, and formerly of Manhattan He worked as a Chemical Engineer for Exxon, Florham Park, he retired in 1999, after 33 years. He graduated from the University of Detroit where he was later recognized as the most successful engineer of his class. Stephen was a member of Resurrection Parish. He was an avid coach for many sports in the Randolph Recreation Department, with great success in soccer. Former Randolph Town Councilman, he was a member of the Randolph Open Space, Environmental and Planning Board Committees. He was also an avid sports fan and golfer. Survived by Rosemary, his wife of 50 years; four children John A. and his wife Kimberly of IL, Mary Katherine Weatherby and her husband Charles of Sewell, Patrick R. and his wife Lynda of TX, and Kelly A. Nostrame and her husband Robert of Randolph; two brothers Alan of NY State, and Robert of Livingston; one sister Emily Mayhew of England. Also survived by ten grandchildren Ryan, Kyle, Sean, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Luke, Shane, Steven, Christopher, and Kelly. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 2nd, 2014, 2-4 PM & 6-9 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 Rt. 10 Randolph, (www.tuttlefh.com ). A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 4th, 2014, 10 AM at Resurrection Parish, Randolph. Interment to follow at Millbrook Cemetery, Randolph.
