Richard A. Baldo. 1921-2011 Born in Weehawken, grew up there and at Cedar Lake. Graduated from Boonton HS, US Army Air Corp 1940-1945. Served in Europe. 1948 married Betty Reed (1929-1990) of Dover. Survived by two sisters: Edith Stone of Rockaway, and Betty Ruiz of Denville, and three sons Richard and wife Natalia of Reno, James and wife Marlynn of Pittsbough, and Robert and wife Kathleen of Orlando. Long time member and past captain of Randolph Rescue Squad, as well as member and past Post Commander of VFW Post 7333 in Randolph. He spent most of his career at Grand Union Company and in later years worked at Knothe Farm Produce Shop in Mt. Freedom. He was always surrounded by books, and collections of stamps, rocks and 78rpm records among other things. He was an avid bowler with 1 300 game. Living in and raising his family on Reservoir Avenue in Randolph from 1952 for over fifty years. He continued to volunteer for local schools and agencies after retirement. Richard, or Dick as many remember him, and Betty were always ready with a helping hand. Visitation Tuesday, May 3, 2011, 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (tuttlefh.com). A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the VFW Post 7333, 103 Carrell Road Randolph, NJ 07869 or The Randolph Rescue Squad, 780 Rt. 10 West Randolph, NJ 07869
