Obituary of Dominic Celentano

Dominic Celentano died at Bryan Manor in Chester, New Jersey on April 23rd, 2011 after a short illness. He was born on May 19th, 1925 in Positano, Italy to parents Pasquale and Julia. He emigrated to New York at one year of age and lived in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx. He enlisted in the Air Force at age 19 and trained as a bombardier, but did not serve overseas. Dominic's love of art led him to the School of Visual Arts which he attended on the GI bill. His early work years were spent as an art director in various publishing companies, this led him to Western Electric where he segued into Marketing and Management where he excelled by bringing his creativity to this field. He met and married Corinne Mazzarella in 1952, traveling to Bermuda for his honeymoon which remained one of his fondest memories. They settled in Bayside, Queens in a two-family home shared with Corinne's parents and brother. They had two children, Corinne and Andrea, and enjoyed many good times with family and friends for Sunday dinners, vacation trips, etc.. Dominic took on the care of his mother-in-law and brother-in-law after Corinne's death from pancreatic cancer in 1994. Dominic volunteered his expertise to Saint Clares Hospital Foundation and the Community Theater in Morristown. He is survived by his daughter, Corinne Bush and her husband Robert and their children Nicole and Jimmy; daughter, Andrea Kelly and her husband Michael and their children Matthew, Rachel and Alexander and his brother Frank Celentano and wife Joan. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to Bryan Manor, P.O. Box 426, Gladstone, NJ 07934.
