Obituary of Thomas M. Banks

Thomas Maurice Banks, 53, of Dover died on April 2, 2011 after a long illness. He resided in Boonton most of his life before moving to Dover. He attended Boonton Public Schools, participated in the Harmony Senior Drum & Bugle Corp and graduated from the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in New York.
Maurice was a gifted chef, working in the field for nearly thirty years. His last postion was with Brock & Company at Information Services International in Mount Olive, NJ.
For several years he worked with the Dover High School Marching Band. He was a Founding Father, Board Member and Assistant Director of the Fusion Core Drum & Bugle Corp which was created in 2006. His passion and dedication for Fusion and its members was paramount. He could be found fundraising 24/7. His hard work and persistence paid off when Fusion Core took first place in the 2010 DCA Class A Championships.
Maurice is survived by his siblings; Sharon (Fears), Brenda, Pamela, Sandra, Belinda, Bobby and Darryl Banks all whom reside in Detroit, MI; Cousins Donella Banks Harlee from Flanders, NJ and Greg Stafford from Dover, NJ. In addition to a host of beloved family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2011, 11:00 A.M. at the Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Memorial Visitation will also be on Saturday at the funeral home 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M..
