Obituary of Marie Ponteliona

Marie Ponteliona, 84, resident Mt. Arlington, passed away Friday, April 1, 2011 at Mt. Arlington Senior Living. Marie was a resident of Rutherford for 37 years, then moved to Rockaway Township and loved to spend her winters in Pompano Beach, Fl for 15 years before moving to Mt. Arlington. She retired from Hoboken Public Schools after working 40 years as a school teacher. She is survived by her son Joseph Ponteliona and wife Michele of Rockaway Twp. Her daughter Donna Ponteliona of Rockaway Twp. Four grandchildren, Jason, Matthew, Sean, Michael and fiancé Erica, and one great grandchild Riley Ponteliona. Also, survived by two brothers Eugene Marren and wife Jean, Joseph Marren wife and Liz. Her five sisters Joan Canon and husband Thomas, Frances Tully, Ann Sullivan, Mary Fitzpatrick and husband Bob, Grace Sodano and husband Frank. Her in-laws Frances and Paul Pini, and many loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Marie was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph Ponteliona in 2006. She was a parishioner of St. Clement Pope & Martyr Church in Rockaway Twp. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Clement Pope & Martyr Church, 154 Mt. Pleasant Ave, Rockaway, at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 5, 2011. Visitation is Monday, April 4, 2011, 3:00 – 5:00 PM & 7:00 – 9:00 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 Rt. 10, Randolph.
